Materials:

unfinished cabinet
Plaid combing kit
masking tape

Steps:
  1. Apply the base color to the cabinet; let it dry completely.
  2. Apply tape over the areas that will be trimmed in gold. Apply an additional tape along the edge of the first strip, then remove the first strip while leaving the second in place. Apply the gold trim in the uncovered area where the first strip was once applied. Remove the second strip of tape after painting the trim.
  3. Paint the remaining areas with the green glaze and use the combing tool to create the desired effects while the color is still wet. It dries slowly, so don't worry about working quickly, and simply brush out any mistakes.
  4. Allow the glaze to dry, and the cabinet is ready to use.
